He didn't/couldn't/wasn't able to see/realize/understand the danger/risk/peril he was in. As he reached/got to/climbed up to the top, the branch/limb/twig broke/snapped/fell. Sam plummeted/fell/crashed to the ground with a loud/sharp/painful thud/sound/crash.

From/After/That day on, Sam became much more cautious/careful/thoughtful. here He understood/realized/learned the importance/value/significance of being safe/secure/protected.

Sam's New Friend

Sam was feeling a little lonely. He wanted to have a new buddy to play with. One day, while he was exploring in the park, he spotted something different. It was a little animal with colorful scales. Sam slowly went up to the creature and spoke, "Hello! What's your name?" The creature smiled and replied Sam, "I'm Lily!" And so, Sam made a new friend. They spent the rest of the day laughing together.

Sam was so happy to have found a new friend. He knew that he and Lily would be best friends forever.
